Communication Technology in Teaching English 10 in San Pablo Colleges High School Department. Specifically, it sought answers to the following: the level of practice and on the advantages in the utilization of ICT in the teaching learning process; the significant relationship between the two mentioned above; and the support system which can be developed to engage in technology-driven instruction. The study employed a correlational research design through quantitative method to determine the relationship between the variables. Eighty-eight (88) respondents from Grade 10 of San Pablo Colleges are involved and researcher made questionnaire is used to gather data. The researchers used the weighted mean formula, pearson r formula and likert scale. It is conclusive to this
study that utilization of ICT has an impact in teaching English 10. The findings of the study showed that video, multimedia presentation and online learning have been practiced by the teachers in teaching English. Moreover, the students agreed that the use of ICT in the teaching-learning process is an advantage in their interest in learning, academic performance and communication skills. DETERMINING THE BEST SERVICE REQUEST FORECASTING     ALGORITHM FOR REGIONAL STANDARDS AND TESTING LABORATORY ON WATER WASTE QUALITY ASSURANCE

John Jemil. P Agdon
This research is about determining which forecasting algorithm has the accurate forecast result. The researcher collected the data from a government laboratory in region four which is the: water waste (BOD, COD, Total/Fecal Coliform (MPN), TSS), The researcher used three forecasting algorithm which includes Linear Regression, Seasonal Adjusted, and Exponential Smoothing. The researcher also used Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) as a tool for measuring the accuracy of the forecasts of the three algorithms.

The researcher used experimental method and exploratory research design to seek out which among this forecasting algorithm is best to apply in such data. After calculating and comparing the forecast of the three-forecasting algorithm, linear regression generated closer to the actual data in the end of the forecast for BOD and COD. In T/CF(MPN), the seasonal adjusted provided an appropriate result because of its nearer to the actual data. Lastly, in TSS test, the exponential smoothing provided a better algorithm than the others.

With the used of MAPE, the researcher concluded that the Seasonal Adjusted had the lowest score for BOD, COD, and T/FC(MPN) data which means that it’s the most appropriate forecasting to use than the other two algorithms. However, the Linear Regression had shown a good forecast for the TSS data for having the lowest score which means that it was the better forecasting algorithm for this particular data.

MANUAL OF OPERATION FOR INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE
OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Anabel C. Banuelos

The study centred on the development of Manual of Operation for Internal Quality Assurance of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). It specified answers to the quality initiatives of HEIs; the status of quality initiatives as perceived by the
administrators, faculty, and staff in terms of administrative and logistic support, human resources, and documentation; the significant difference on their perceptions; the challenges encountered by HEIs; and the development of Manual of Operation for Internal Quality Assurance of HEIs. Mixed Method was used in
data gathering which relied on descriptive survey to investigate the responses of 229 research participants and a Focus Group Discussion to qualitatively explore the challenges of HEIs on quality initiatives. The findings revealed that Accreditation and CHED Recognition were the only quality initiatives of HEIs. Administrators and office staff agree on a very good status of quality assurance initiatives in terms
of administrative and logistic support, human resources, and documentation afar from the fair perception of the faculty members. The differences on their perceptions implies that there are challenges met in the conduct of the quality assurance initiatives. These led to the development of Manual of Operation for
Internal Quality Assurance of Higher Education Institutions intended to be utilized by BatStateU extension campuses for sustainability of quality.

GREEN PRACTICES OF HOTELS IN THE CALABARZON
REGION: BASIS FOR A PROPOSED PRIMER FOR
ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY HOTELS

ALEX MACARIO C. CECILIO
The study dealt with the green practices of hotels in the CALABARZON Region. It investigated the existing green practices of hotels in terms of water conservation, energy conservation, and waste management, factors that affect hotel management’s decisions to adopt green practices, challenges encountered along the implementation of green practices, significant differences on existing green practices and factors affecting green practices adoption, and activities initiated to sustain hotel’s green practices. A total of 32 hotel managers were the participants of the study. The study is quantitative in nature. Weighted mean, percentages, Chi-square, and one-way ANOVA were the statistical treatments applied. Findings revealed that energy conservation such as cleaning and changing of air conditioner filters regularly and not leaving television on standby mode were the top green practices adopted by the hotels, compatibility to the hotel’s operating procedures as the utmost influencing factor; high cost of transition as the number one challenge. Meanwhile, diverse implementation style of hotel managers and varied influences on green practices adoption were noted. Furthermore, green practices of hotels were partially implemented in the CALABARZON Region, particularly in lower star-level hotels. This result suggested the need to improve green practices engagement of hotels. Hence, the use of the proposed Primer for Environment-friendly Hotels is highly recommended.

AN EXPLORATORY ANALYSISOF ORGANIC FARMING IN LAGUNA PROVINCE BASED ON PORTERS’ FIVE FORCES

MARIVIC B. ABINSAY

This study was conducted to craft a development plan for the organic farming in Laguna Province. Specifically, it dealt with the status of organic farming, assessment of the external, internal factors, and regulatory environment of organic farming. A total of 86 organic factors in selected municipalities in Laguna participated in this study. The research design employed was the descriptive method. Percentages and weighted means were used in the data analysis. The findings indicated that the status on the number of years in organic farming is 3-5 years; size of farm is less than one hectare; vegetable is the most planted commodity, and organic farming practices are done manually. Based on Porter’s five forces, threat of new entrants, threats of substitute and buyer power are high while supplier power ad competitive rivalry are low. The internal environment in terms of operational sustainability and market sustainability is perceived as sustainable, while the regulatory environment in terms of standardization and certification is perceived as sustainable. Result suggested the need to intensify organic farming practices in the province of Laguna; strengthen the methods and procedures employed in organic farming; apply Porter’s Five forces Analysis for better organic farming outcomes, and implemented the proposed development plan.
